This is a Remote Administration Tool (RAT), used by hackers for gaining access to distant PCs. This version was released in Germany, July 2002. The programming language is Delphi. A RAT program works by a simple but effective principle: the hacker infects the machine with a "server" program via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing system and can control it, using a “client” on his computer.

This RAT was created in March 2001 by a hacker called Ethdra. Not only it provides a full access to victim's PC, but it also has a "keylogger" function included, allowing the virus to steal passwords and bank accounts. A very dangerous spyware. It uses the "backdoor" and "trojan" abilities to infect the users computer.

A RAT program is a type of spyware, designed for controlling other people's computers remotely. The hacker tries to infect the victim's machine with a "server" program. It is usually performed via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. The functions of a RAT can vary, depending on the needs of the hacker. This program, for example was created only for usage via the IRC channel. Several Variants appeared from September, 2001 to February, 2002.

Some RAT programs can be judged as a simple hooliganism, but some can seriously damage your system, or be the main cause of valuable information loss. The author of this spyware is Black Flash. It was created in February 2005.

This software is presented as a program which is supposed to help people work on multiple computers. However, a quick examine of vendor description leaves no doubt, that this is a RAT. It was created using Visual Basic programming language. By a Russian hacker called Alvgus.

This small Chinese RAT program was created for getting illegal access to victim's PC. The principle is simple: the hacker infects victim's PC via the e-mail or the File and Print Sharing. After that he can get full control over the infected computer, using a "client", installed on his own PC and a "server" on his victim's machine. It means that all the information, stored in your PC is accessable for the intruder, he can copy it, delete, turn off your computer etc. It features "backdoor" and "trojan" abilities. Created in November 1999. The program was written in Visual Basic language.

Created by "the Digital Underground" group. This version has the "backdoor" and "trojan" function included. It means that the trojan installs a security breach, through which a full access to user's PC is possible. Several versions can be found in the internet (AIMVision 1.03 AIMVision 1.04; AIMVision 1.4)

RAT means Remote Administration Tool. It is a hacker software, used to gain access to other people's computers. The hacker usually tries to infect the victim's PC via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. The main purpose of the attacker is to install a "server" in user's machine, which will allow him to monitor and control all user activities. This virus is written in Visual C++ programming language. It originated in March 2003 in China. No wonder, the interface is written in Chinese.

This simple to use hacker program, written in Assembly language, was designed as a FTP transfer tool, but it also includes an execute file function. It uses such stealth methods as "trojan" and "backdoor" to infect the computer and stay resident in the memory, without being found. The author is a hacker called stan. The virus originated in May 2002.
