A Key logger is a software application that runs in the background and records any keyboard activity. Logged information is stored in the machine and can be retrieved later by the attacker through the internet connection. Key loggers can record sensitive information such as passwords, credit card numbers, personal identification numbers, etc. Key loggers are commonly included as parts of other spyware programs.

A program that runs in the background, recording all the keystrokes. Once keystrokes are logged, they are hidden in the machine for later retrieval, or shipped raw to the attacker. The attacker then peruses them carefully in the hopes of either finding passwords, or possibly other useful information that could be used to compromise the system or be used in a social engineering attack.

This RAT was created in March 2001 by a hacker called Ethdra. It uses the "backdoor" and "trojan" abilities to infect the users computer.
