Danton 4.0.0

Danton Trojan is a parasitic backdoor, which is especially dangerous because of its ability to disable antiviral software. In case of success, various malware can easily sneak into infected machine. What is more, this specific pest can also provide the hacker with a partial control over target machine; this technique makes it possible for the hacker to steal different pieces of confidential data, such as passwords and logins.

The first versions (Danton 1.1b, Danton 2.1b, Danton 2.2 b, Danton 3.1b, Danton 3.2, Danton 3.3) were created by L_killer, but it is actually the same person. The programming language is Delphi. Variants of this RAT appeared from March 2001 to December 2003. As the number of the version grows, so do the possibilities of this program. A Remote Administration Tool is a special kind of hacker spyware, used for remote access and control of other people's computers. The attacker infects the PC via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. A "server" allows him to connect via a "client" on his own machine. The functions of a RAT may vary, depending on the needs of the hacker.

This RAT was created by a Chinese author called Lovejingtao. It is written in Visual C++ and compressed wwith ASPack. Several variants appeared from May 2000 to March 2002. The interface is written in Chinese. The principle of such program is simple: the attacker infects his victim via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing with a server program. Once in the system, the virus opens a default port TCP 25 and awaits commands from the intruder. He can connect to the infected PC via a client program.

An apparently useful and innocent program containing additional hidden code which allows the unauthorized collection, exploitation, falsification, or destruction of data. When this program executes, the program performs a specific set of actions, usually working toward the goal of allowing the trojan to survive on a system and open up a backdoor.
